Use the following sample itinerary to traverse through the area and experience all it has to offer.

Day 1

Enjoy a Seafaring Adventure

 Choose between a Whale & Wildlife tour or Angling Trip with Atlantic Whale & Wildlife Tours. Observe fin, humpback and minke whales, common dolphins, basking sharks, harbour porpoise, sunfish and other marine wildlife in stunning scenery or opt for a half day or full day angling.  

Alternatively, if land is preferable take a Historic Stroll with Don Herlihy and Barry Moloney to enjoy a colourful story of Kinsale from the Medieval walled town to the sinking of the Lusitania.

Old Head Signal Tower

Discover the Old Head Signal Tower and check out the most southerly point of the stunning Wild Atlantic Way with rugged terrain and incredible views, it is a perfect photo opportunity.    

The tower is home to the Lusitania Museum exhibiting  incredible memorabilia and artefacts from the shipwreck

Day 2

To Clonakilty

Next stop Clonakilty, and one of the magnificent beaches of West Cork - Inchydoney.  Try surfing with Inchydoney Surf School, where lessons are for beginners and no experience is needed. All the equipment is provided, so you can jump straight into a fun adventure on the waves. 

If surfing isn’t for you, take a peaceful walk on the beach, perfect for going barefoot, or enjoy a swim in the fresh waters of the Wild Atlantic.

Next let Gormú Eco Adventures take you on an exploration, providing fascinating insights into the area's rich history, folklore, and dúchas – the deep-rooted connection to one's homeland, heritage, and ancestry. Engage all five of your senses, creating a truly immersive experience.

1. Explore the Skibbereen Farmers Market, known for its focus on local produce and artisan goods (open Saturdays, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm). You can also take a stroll through the nearby Country Market on Friday mornings (11:30 am – 2:00 pm).
  
2. Hike Knockomagh Hill which overlooks the Hyne Marine Nature Reserve. Follow the nature trail to the summit, where you'll be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views

Day 3

Island Adventure, Sheeps Head & Bantry Bay

Sheeps Head

If spectacular scenery is your thing, you’re in for a treat! Embark on the Sheep’s Head Loop Walk, a 3.7 km trail that showcases the raw and rugged beauty of West Cork.

The loop circles the very tip of the peninsula, offering panoramic views over the Wild Atlantic Way. Be prepared for diverse terrain— steep, rocky paths and tracks that lead you past dramatic high cliffs.

Bantry Bay

Day 4

Bantry to Kenmare via Dursey
