On August 19th 2023 we lost Jack Egan, the beating heart of our local music scene. The Wexford native took Cork by storm upon moving here in 2016, where he achieved both a BA and MA in Electric Bass from the MTU Cork School of Music. Jack made a name for himself as a member of several noteworthy bands - including The Underscore Orkestra, Sky Trumpets and an array of others - and a gifted soloist who loved to get creative with unique blends of genres in his arrangements. Jack would go out of his way to help anyone he could, both in a musical and supportive capacity, and wanted nothing more than to spread his passion for music by instilling it in others.
On December 14th, Jack's friends, family and colleagues will be coming together in Cyprus Avenue to celebrate the life of a true artist who touched countless lives in his short time on this earth. Join The Underscore Orkestra, Skies Behind, Stephen & Abby, Cillian Plummer, Daniel Murphy and more fabulous acts as they pay tribute to Jack with a night packed to the brim with different genres of music. Proceeds will go to Samaritans Cork in support of their 24 hour mental health services."
