For more than 25 years at Fred Zeppelins we’ve overseen a weekly open mic night. We view it as a vital development platform for the local music community and are delighted to welcome all new performers to our famous stage.
Under the stewardship of local artist Andy Wilson, this legendary night has grown into something much more varied and energetic than the traditional night full of ‘guys with guitars’. Spoken word, folklore, Sean nós singing and improvised and electronic music are regular features, along side the usual songs on guitar and keyboards, with nights often ending on a full band jam.
A hub for a diverse community of emerging artists, every Tuesday throws up something and someone new. With a back line usually available, you can bring your own band. And if you don’t have a band, you might find one there!
The show which aims to kick off at 8pm sharp is always entertaining. Make sure to get in early to guarantee a spot. No pre bookings are necessary, just show up on the night and we’ll do our best to get you on, first come first served. We can’t wait to hear what you’re going to do
