Brouhaha is back! Join us for our first gig of 2024 with the traditional and folk inspired Irish-Catalonian duo, The Dream of Horses. The Dream of Horses is an alt-folk group from Cork and Barcelona. They are deeply rooted folk musicians, paving their own way on the alternative folk scene. They are refined lyricists whose lyrics are both poetic and rough, honest and intertwined with deeper meaning. They are multi-talented instrumentalists, intuitive players and performers. They perform with rhythmic guitars, bouzouki, fiddle, bass and drums. The duo share a precious dynamic and their live performances are entrancing and moving. The Dream of Horses is Judy Murphy (Cork: vocals, fiddle, bouzouki, guitar) and Pep Tassies (Barcelona: vocals, guitar and double bass). On 27th April they'll be launching their EP, 'Montreal'. 'Montreal' was born out of a collection of songs about reminiscence, change, ephemerality, travel and emergence. Recorded in La Marfa Studios, Girona (Dec ‘23) the record includes the tracks “Journey Back”, “Bluebells of Leap”, “To a Friend Who Left For Scotland”, “Rusted and Raw” and "Streetlights”. 'Montreal' shows the duo's mastery of lyricism, instrumentation and vulnerability. Brouhaha is a not-for-profit music promoter bringing people to community spaces in Cork City. Key Books is a community bookshop run by volunteers as a not-for-profit venture. This is an early evening event with doors at 6 p.m. See you there! www.brouhaha.ie
