Boolaboom are a super-sized brass and percussion big-band playing acoustic house, jazzy techno and drum & bass belters.
The group will busk around the Patrick Street/Winthrop Street/GPO area on Culture Night (keep an eye on their social media for exact location on the night) between 8pm and 9pm and any money collected will go to disaster relief for Libya.
A budding collaboration between some of Cork's top jazz musicians and drummers from the Cork City Samba Band, the group officially launched in Summer 2023 and are currently showcasing their growing set.
Boolaboom's original tracks feature catchy brass licks and scintillating brass solos alongside irresistible percussion build-ups and thumping air-punching beat-drops, while covers such as their acoustic rework of Kerri Chandler's deep house classic 'Atmosphere' and 90's dance classic 'Insomnia' by Faithless are sure to thrill jazz and EDM fans alike.
