A new museum dedicated to celebrating the lives and contributions of inspiring women connected to Youghal.
The “Pioneering Women of Youghal” museum shines a spotlight on figures whose achievements have shaped local, national, and international history.
The museum features a rich collection of stories, artwork, and historical insights, highlighting women from diverse backgrounds — including writers, artists, activists, and pioneers in science and society. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the remarkable journeys of women such as Edith Blake, Florence Newton, Breeid Ni Foghlu, Anna Fisher Haslam, Princess of Capua, Patricia Cockburn and Katherine Boyle Jones.
“This museum is about giving these women the recognition they deserve and ensuring their stories continue to inspire,” said Deirdre McSweeney-Kelly, Curator. “We hope it will become a valuable cultural and educational resource for the community and visitors alike.”
Located in South Main Street, Youghal. Sister museums Youghal Film and Photography Museum and the Youghal Lace Museum, are both located within walking distance of this new museum.
Admission is free.
