The Blackwater Valley Arts Centre is a vibrant, creative hub in the heart of Fermoy on the banks of the Blackwater River. The centre provides a wide variety of cultural events including visual art exhibitions, artists talks, demonstrations, performances, book launches and poetry and prose evenings. The Arts Centre is also the home of the Blackwater Valley Makers Gallery and Craft shop, the members of whom manage and run the Arts Centre on a voluntary basis.

Blackwater Valley Makers invite all children up to the age of 12 to visit the Children’s Drawing Room in our new premises at 12 McCurtain Street, Fermoy. Pencils and paper are provided and all works will be exhibited on the walls. Children are also welcome to bring drawings from home. As an Arts Centre we are devoted to promoting the arts and would very much like to encourage children to exhibit their talents while providing them with a worthwhile forum that can be enjoyed by all.

We would ask that children be accompanied by an adult and adhere to current Covid-19 guidelines. Drawing materials will be sanitised.

The “Children’s Drawing Room” exhibition is free and runs to the end of 2021. Drawings can be collected in the new year, 2022. All works should be provided with name and age of the artist on the back of the piece.

We look forward to viewing new and exciting artworks.
