Barnahown is a sensitively renovated and lovingly-restored 1800's farmhouse in the heart of historic Georgian Mitchelstown with views to the majestic Galtee Mountain range. Operating with a low environmental impact ethos; Barnahown runs on solar PV panels, enjoys views of newly planted native wildlife-friendly hedging, avoids single use packaging and sources the majority of food served from within a 20km radius.

Owner Ciara O'Brien recently left her corporate career, most recently with Google, after 20 years to realise her dream of running a traditional B&B in her hometown of Mitchelstown. A keen hiker, Ciara hopes to introduce visitors to the hidden gems of North Cork and The Galtee/Ballyhoura mountains.

Ciara offers luxuries such a solar-powered hot tub and honesty bar on-site while partnering with neighbours in the area to offer bespoke itineraries including forest bathing, hiking, mountain biking, chocolate making and beer tasting.
