On the banks of the River Lee where the Shournagh river connects with it, you will find the idilic setting of The Anglers. Possibly one of the oldest public houses in Cork, the Anglers has stood proud on this spot for more than 200 years! Originally home to the Moxley family who ran the business until the late 70s, if the walls of The Anglers could talk, many a story it would tell!

From days gone by when it was a safe house for members of the old IRA during the War of Independence and a stop on the route of the old Muskerry tram as it headed to Blarney. Always famed for its beautiful beer garden overlooking the river and stunning stone bridges to the front and back, many a Corkonian and their families have a story to tell of times spent here!
