Official tourism website for Cork, Ireland

Opened in May 2024, Old Brennans is a stylish new addition to Cork’s city centre, located in the beautifully restored former Brennan’s Cookshop on Oliver Plunkett Street.

Downstairs, you’ll find a hand-crafted bar with a relaxed Mediterranean vibe, while upstairs doubles as a bright art gallery, showcasing an ever-changing collection of works from talented local artists. Both floors offer seating, and food and drinks are served throughout the venue.

Wine lovers are in for a treat — with around 100 carefully chosen bottles on the list, focusing on classic Old World varieties alongside some excellent New World picks. The menu also highlights the very best of Irish and Cork produce. A small but refined selection of cocktails, spirits, and beers is also available.

The front of house is led by managing partner and sommelier Frank Schiltkamp, who brings over 25 years of expertise, ensuring visitors enjoy not only exceptional wine but also warm and knowledgeable service. In the kitchen, head chef Helen Rossiter has created a menu designed to complement the wines: think small plates, cheese and charcuterie boards, fresh fish platters, and seasonal sharing dishes.

Whether you’re popping in for a glass of wine and a nibble, or settling in for an evening of food, art, and atmosphere, Old Brennans promises a unique experience in the heart of Cork.
