Since 2009, Macroom Buffalo Farm has had Ireland's first herd of dairy water buffaloes. On Johnny's farm over a 100 Water Buffalo are milked twice daily in the height of the summer months and the on-site Master cheesemakers make Irish Buffalo Mozzarella, Ricotta, Halluomi, Boccocini & Greek Style Salad cheeses for the Irish market since 2014.

This is a brilliant for a very different experience and opportunity to admire Ireland's first Water Buffalo herds roaming the rich green pastures in Kilnamartyta, Macroom, Co. Cork.

Head off down the fields to get up close and personal with the adult herds, following on to the Big Green Barns to see the adorable calves born all year round.Have a walk through the Milking Parlour and meet the farmers. End your visit with a delicious Taste of the on -site Cheese dairy's fresh Macroom Buffalo Cheese products selection prepared by Dorothy.

Tour Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
