Castle Townshend has been the home of the Townshend family in Ireland for 11 generations. The centre part of The Castle was built around 1650 and when the original castles were destroyed in the 17/18th centuries, the stone was used to add the east and west towers.
The ground floor hall is oak panelled and the elegant dining room overlooks the waterfront. Both of these rooms retain most of their original features, furniture and family portraits.
The Castle stands in spacious grounds overlooking the peaceful waterfront of Castletownshend harbour. A place to really get away from it all and relax.
So, why not stop by our newly-opened café or stay in The Castle for the real experience?
